Cooking over a campfire can be fun. There are the old standbys, like roasting potatoes in the coals of the fire while grilling chicken or burgers on the soot-covered grills provided by the campground. There are also S’mores and roasted hot dogs on a stick. Breakfast can be more fun; eggs cook easily in a skillet, if the chef can keep an eye out – just beware the flying cinders that speckle your sunny-side-up order! If you are going for a long run or bike ride, especially if the weather is hot, drink a fluid that has electrolytes in it such as Gatorade or Powerade. Both of these drinks have lower calorie options for those who are watching their sugar intake. |
